/ / Electrical Panel Upgrades
Your panel is the
heart of your home.
Pure Light Electric upgrades electrical panels throughout the Kansas City metro — safely, correctly, and on the record with proper permits and inspection.
/ / Warning Signs
Signs you need a panel upgrade.
Your panel will usually tell you when it's struggling. Here's what to look for — and when to call us.
Frequently tripping breakers
If your breakers trip regularly, your panel is overloaded — it can't handle your home's electrical demand.
Flickering or dimming lights
Lights that flicker when appliances kick on signal an undersized or failing panel struggling to keep up.
You have a 60-amp or 100-amp panel
Most modern homes need 200-amp service. A 60A panel is dangerously undersized for today's electrical loads.
Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel
These recalled panel brands have a documented history of breaker failure and fire risk. Replace immediately.
Adding an EV charger or major appliance
A dryer, EV charger, hot tub, or HVAC system may require more capacity than your current panel provides.
Burning smell or scorch marks
Any burning odor or discoloration around your panel is a serious electrical emergency. Call immediately.
